Peter Smith studied music at Humber College and completed an Honors Bachelor of Music degree at Wilfrid Laurier University (1991). In addition he holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Western Ontario (1992).
He has performed extensively as a guitarist in various performing and recording ensembles. Peter’s own compositions have been played on Canada’s Smooth Jazz radio station, WAVE 94.7 (Click here for Portfolio).
While teaching at MSM, he created a series of 5 workbooks for the guitar curriculum. He served as an examiner, adjudicator, in-service instructor and guitar department head during that period. He also held the position of an adjudicator for the 2007 Midland Music Festival.
Peter has been operating his private teaching studio in the River Oaks neighbourhood of Oakville since 2008. Peter’s lessons are engaging, inspiring and fun.
